Bahá’í House of Worship for North America, Wilmette, IL

Bahá’ís organize regular devotional gatherings, informational meetings, groups for studying the Bahá’í Writings, children's and young adult classes, service projects, and more. You do not need to be a Bahá’í to participate. Everyone is welcome.

In larger cities, there may be Bahá’í Centers at which members gather for these activities. In Lake Geneva, we gather for our devotional programs in the homes of our members. Because there is no clergy in the Bahá’í Faith, it is up to each individual to read the Bahá’í Writings, study the Faith, pray, engage in service, and follow as best as possible the teachings that Bahá'u'lláh has set forth for this latest era of human civilization.

Those of us in and around Lake Geneva also have the special blessing of having the
Bahá’í House of Worship for the North American Continent located less than a 90-minute drive, in Wilmette, IL. Voted in 2007 as one of the Seven Wonders of Illinois, it is currently one of just seven such Bahá’í temples in the world at this time. (You can view a photo gallery of all the Bahá’í Houses of Worship here.)

Like all Bahá’í Houses of Worship, it is circular in shape, nine-sided, and is surrounded by beautiful gardens and fountains. It is open to all. (Just click the above link for more information.)
